Hurts Donut

what the fuck…

Despite all the best intentions, preparation, and work- you still hit the December wall.

It hurts, doesn’t it?

Getting sick, having an unexpected injury (or reinjury/ setback), feeling drained, and hitting a wall…

It all feels like starting over.

But it’s not.

All the work you just did to get yourself to where you currently are cannot just be wiped away by a few bad weeks.

However, this next week is important.

Your holiday obligations are over, you are starting to feel better, and structure is slowly coming back into your life. The time is now to pick yourself back up, get yourself out of bed, and get back on track with the habits, and efforts that were turning your life around.

New energy and new motivation will come after you get started.

If over the last month, you felt overwhelmed, you felt like nothing really mattered, you felt like you failed- here is a quote from Philadelphia Eagles’ Quarterback Jalen Hurts after their 3-game losing streak this December.

It's just something we're going through, not something we're stuck in.
Jalen Hurts

That is powerful and yet the Eagles have since had another bad loss and lost 4 of 5 games in December. That’s 4 really bad weeks. Maybe you can relate. But the quote is still amazing and for you and Jalen Hurts the only option is to stay the course. Put the work in, and believe you will overcome whatever adversity you face.

You will only be stuck if you allow yourself to be. Sure you deserved a break/ reset like we all did but it’s time to move forward. Taking action even if small at first will get you back on track with your previous trajectory and out of this rut. Inaction now is a waste of time and will see you lose more, when you could be making progress.

Take it day by day, rebuild in pieces, and do the things you know will help you regain control. The same things that have worked before will work again they might just look a bit different. Believe in the process, keep looking for solutions, even ask for help.

You are getting better at handling SHIT like this every single time it happens and everything will get better if you take some action.

Life is a long game, get back to playing it.

Your Coach,

Connor

PS. I hope you got the Hurts Donut reference there, if you didn’t then I suspect you never had siblings and still have the feeling in your arms 👊
